This tournament of last Saturday was a surprising success despite a horrible turn of luck that no one could have foreseen. With the rcon down, and us unable to close off the server, we nonetheless managed to have a righteous good time. The tourney was delayed almost an hour in starting as many people had to be explained the rcon situation, convinced that we could still do it without rcon (Hell, why lose a chance to do something with so many FoU’sters already online?). However Snape finally arrived and it seemed like he would make it all better. However, even restarting the server didn’t fix rcon. With Snape’s word saying we should go ahead anyway, everyone was convinced, why the hell not?
Empty spots (we started with 13 FoU’sters) would be filled by non-clan members who would fight to qualify. After we got that out of the way, I hurried to arrange the brackets for some interesting fights. Arranging brackets with a lot of people yelling at you to hurry and getting mixed up over who is fighting is stressful! Snape and Enna both complained when I announced I’d placed them together but I knew they would be an interesting match. Although Taco defeated Outlaw, he had to leave and Outlaw replaced him. Then Outlaw had to leave and Recon replaced him. Cloud had to leave and was replaced by Musashi. Anus and Shad fooled around a lot at their turn. Finally after the first set was over, I finally was able to confidently announce next matches. Naturally our two champion duelers moved forward again.
It was down to four people. Two FoU’sters and two non. And then there we two. It was down to Musashi and |OA| Agent Orange, a non-FoU’ster who defeated me, 8|, and Shadow to move into the final battle. Fight One: Orange, though it could have been attributed to lag. Fight Two:…
|OA| Agent Orange wins! Okay, a bit awkward for a non-FoU’ster to win the FoU tournament, but he was quite gentlemanly about it and even joined the forums.
It was a long day, and many people had to leave. Plus a not long after it was all over, someone came in and started to crash the server. It was no big deal though, Snape took care of it for us making it only a minor inconvenience.

A big thank you goes out to Anubis for trying to find us a new server where we could have rcon and filling slots to keep newbs from connecting; Snape, for being an uber clan leader and reminding everyone that it could still work; Musashi for moral support; Enna for pad security; and finally a great big thanks for everyone who showed up and stuck with it.
